Roberto Martinez reveals fitness concerns

Roberto Martinez says that Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and Seamus Coleman may not be ready for Everton's first Premier League match of the season on Saturday.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that he is unsure whether Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and Seamus Coleman will be ready for their Premier League opener against Leicester City this weekend.

Lukaku and Mirallas both missed the club's last pre-season friendly against Paderborn, while Coleman has been struggling with a hamstring injury.

"All three are going to train normally with the team today, so we need to assess how they are and how they go through the week before any decisions are made on Saturday," Martinez told the club's official website.

"It's really good to see Rom and Kevin reaching a really good level of fitness so quickly, but we don't know yet if they're going to be ready for the weekend.

"Seamus is training with the team and had the 'all okay' from a scan yesterday, so that's very good news as well."

Everton start their league campaign away to Leicester on Saturday, before home games against Arsenal and Chelsea.
