Kevin Mirallas has insisted that Belgium teammate Romelu Lukaku is "focused" on Everton after putting this summer's transfer speculation behind him.
Chelsea were strongly linked with a move for their former striker after Euro 2016, but the speculation has quietened in recent weeks and it is understood that Lukaku has committed his future to the Toffees, who are now under the management of Ronald Koeman.
Lukaku has not yet started a Premier League game this season, but Mirallas is backing his international teammate to quickly rediscover the form that saw him score 25 goals in 46 appearances during the 2015-16 campaign.
"I know there's been a lot of speculation about him but Romelu's focused with the team, focused with the club and I hope he scores this weekend," Mirallas told Sky Sports News. "Romelu is important for a lot of reasons. He's the best striker at Everton and he's scored a lot of goals, but he's so important in the dressing room. He's a good person, a good guy and he works a lot."
Lukaku spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Everton from Chelsea before joining on a permanent deal in the summer of 2014.
