David Moyes: No regrets over team selection

Everton boss David Moyes says that he has no regrets over his team selection that lost in the Merseyside derby on Tuesday.

Everton manager David Moyes has defended his decision to rest a number of players against Liverpool on Tuesday.

The Toffees manager was criticised for making six changes to the side that defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 last weekend, which some have suggested led to Everton's 3-0 loss in the Merseyside derby.

"We have got a lot of players here and a good squad when they are fit," said Moyes. "We chose to use them and give a few of them a game.

"We want them all to be fit and ready for the run-in, and obviously for the game [against Sunderland] tomorrow."

When asked if he had any regrets over the selection, Moyes replied: "None whatsoever."

Everton take on Sunderland in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup tomorrow.
