Team News: Tom Cleverley starts for Everton

Arouna Kone is given a starting role in the Everton side against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Tom Cleverley has been given a starting role in the Everton side against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

The hosts are without central midfielder James McCarthy due to injury, which means that Cleverley keeps his spot in the side after helping the Toffees beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in midweek.

He plays alongside Gareth Barry, while Arouna Kone, Ross Barkley and Gerard Deulofeu all start behind in-form striker Romelu Lukaku.

Club captain Mile Jedinak earns a rare start for Palace in midfield, and his return to the team could see James McArthur play further forward.

Wilfried Zaha is unavailable due to suspension, but Connor Wickham keeps his place in attack for the visitors.

Everton: Howard, Galloway, Funes Mori, Stones, Coleman, Barry, Cleverley, Kone, Deulofeu, Barkley, Lukaku
Subs: Robles, Baines, Gibson, Mirallas, Lennon, Naismith, Osman

Crystal Palace: Hennessey; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare; Jedinak, Cabaye; Puncheon, McArthur, Bolasie; Wickham
Subs: Speroni, Kelly, Mutch, Chamakh, Gayle, Campbell, Bamford
