Report: Everton plot Alfred Finnbogason bid

Everton are reportedly preparing a January move for Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, who has scored 14 goals in 13 Eredivisie appearances this season.

Everton are reportedly preparing a January move for Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason.

The 24-year-old has scored 14 goals in 13 Eredivisie appearances this season.

According to The Mirror, manager Roberto Martinez sent a scout to watch Finnbogason at the weekend and the Toffees boss is said to be plotting a £2m bid for the Iceland international.

Finnbogason's arrival at Goodison Park would most likely bring an end to Nikica Jelavic's Everton career.

The Croatia forward, who has started just five club games this season, will want to feature more regularly in the New Year to boost his chances of securing a place in his country's World Cup squad.
