PSV Eindhoven eased past the challenge of newly-promoted FC Volendam courtesy of a resounding 7-1 triumph at the Philips Stadion on Wednesday.
Cody Gakpo led the way for Ruud van Nistelrooy's men with a hat-trick, while Xavi Simons also grabbed two goals of his own, and the pair were joined on the scoresheet by Johan Bakayoko in a game which saw Brian Plat turn the ball past his own goalkeeper.
As a result, the Rood-witten currently lead the way after the first four rounds of matches, ahead of defending champions Ajax on goal difference.
Awaiting them next is the challenge of an opposing side who are yet to come out on top in any of the last 15 meetings between the teams across all competitions.
With the start of their Europa League campaign to come five days later, Saturday's visitors now set out to maintain their perfect domestic record so far.

FC Twente secured a second straight league victory on home turf as they breezed past Eredivisie newcomers Excelsior 4-0 on Wednesday evening.
First-half goals from Denilho Cleonise and Christos Tzolis put Ron Jans's men in cruise control after which Vaclav Cerny added a double in the second period to put the result beyond doubt.
Having amassed nine points from a possible 12, the Tukkers have moved up to fifth place in the league standings ahead of this weekend's clash in Enschede.
In the first of two consecutive heavyweight meetings for Twente, Saturday's hosts will be looking to give a good account of themselves ahead of their trip to AZ Alkmaar in matchday six.

Team News
Twenty-five-year-old Julio Pleguezuelo is set to miss a fourth game on the bounce with a muscle problem which he sustained in his side's Conference League playoff defeat.
Casper Staring is also unavailable to feature for FC Twente due to a knee injury, but Thijs van Leeuwen was fit enough to be named on the bench last time out.
Yorbe Vertessen remains sidelined due to a muscle injury, and the Belgian is not expected to play any part for PSV Eindhoven in this one.
Marco van Ginkel and Noni Madueke are also sidelined with hamstring and ankle injuries respectively, while Mauro Junior is yet to fully recover from a groin problem.
Cody Gakpo continues to deliver the goods for PSV, and the winger has now been directly involved in nine goals in his opening four outings.
FC Twente possible starting lineup:
Unnerstall; Brenet, Hilgers, Bruns, Smal; Zerrouki, Kjolo; Cleonise, Ugalde, Tzolis; Van Wolfswinkel
PSV Eindhoven possible starting lineup:
Benitez; Max, Obispo, Ramalho, Teze; Gutierrez, Veerman, Sangare; Gakpo, Simons, Bakayoko
We say: FC Twente 1-3 PSV Eindhoven
Both teams have made bright starts to the new campaign, and we expect an open and end-to-end affair here. We also fancy the away side to have too much quality for their hosts and secure the three points come the sound of the final whistle.
