Fiorentina, Torino share late goals

Giuseppe Vives cancels out Mohamed Salah's strike as Torino hold Fiorentina to a 1-1 draw.

Giuseppe Vives snatched a 1-1 draw for Torino as Fiorentina missed the chance to climb up to fourth in Serie A this evening.

Fiorentina were gifted the chance to take an early lead when Marco Benassi foolishly brought down Milan Badelj in the box after Torino had failed to clear a corner.

However, the hosts failed to capitalise as Daniele Padelli guessed correctly to save a tame penalty from Babacar.

Torino grew in confidence following the early scare, and only an impressive stop from Ciprian Tatarusanu prevented Maxi Lopez from breaking the deadlock with a powerful low strike.

Fiorentina dominated possession either side of the half-time break, and they wasted a good chance to take the lead when Badelj sent a free header wide of the target.

Vincenzo Montella's side were given a scare as the game entered the closing stages when Joseph Martinez's deflected effort drifted just wide of the post.

It looked like the hosts had clinched the game with just five minutes remaining when Mohamed Salah timed his run perfectly to sprint clear before firing in off the post.

However, Torino responded impressively to claim the draw through Vives, who converted from close range after Tatarusanu had kept out Lopez.
