Laurent Blanc: I want to guide Les Bleus to Rio

France coach Laurent Blanc admits that he wants to continue to lead Les Bleus after this summer's European Championships, targeting the 2014 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.

Laurent Blanc has said that he wants to stay on as coach of the French national football team after this summer's European Championships.

The former Manchester United man is keen to lead Les Bleus to the 2014 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro but his current deal expires after the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

He is confident, however, of performing at the Euros and securing a long-term deal with the French Football Association.

"It is just a matter between me and the Federation chairman," Blanc told Le Monde.

"I wanted to sort out an extension before the Euros, the chairman has another opinion. I have noted it.

"The 2014 World Cup? Of course I want to go to Rio!"

France will face England, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine at this summer's championships.
