Lilian Thuram: 'France can win World Cup'

Former defender Lilian Thuram believes that France are capable of winning this year's World Cup in Brazil.

Former defender Lilian Thuram believes that France's "quality" and "experience" can help them win the World Cup in Brazil.

France began the tournament with a 3-0 triumph over Honduras, and Thuram, who has won the most international caps for his national team, has insisted that their opening result can act as a springboard for Les Bleus to go on to win the competition.

The 42-year-old told RTL: "Yes, they can win. There are players of great quality.

"There is a coach who knows how to win, who has already won as a player and a coach."

Thuram won the World Cup, European Championship and Confederations Cup during his 14-year career with France.
