Marcus Bettinelli: "Automatic promotion is still up for grabs"

Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli claims that his side are still eyeing up automatic promotion, as the Whites sit seven points adrift of second place.

Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has insisted that his side have not given up on a second-place finish in the Championship this season.

The Cottagers have been in outstanding form this calendar year, with a 2-2 draw against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday extending their unbeaten run to a club-record 16 games.

As a result Fulham sit seven points behind second-placed Cardiff City with just eight games of the campaign to go, but Bettinelli insists that automatic promotion is "still up for grabs".

"I think second is still possible, anything can happen in football, I don't think anyone would have expected us to be where we are three months ago, we've got to get back on it again and give it our best shot," Bettinelli told reporters.

"We're not here to get records, make history. Automatic promotion is still up for grabs, but if we don't get it we'll go into the playoffs and that's a great chance to get promoted."

Next up for Fulham is a trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City on March 30.
