Rene Meulensteen "shocked" by Fulham defeat

Rene Meulensteen says that Fulham's 6-0 defeat to Hull City is a shock.

Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has revealed that he is "shocked" by their 6-0 thrashing against Hull City this afternoon.

The Cottagers were level at half time, but fell apart after the break as Hull ran riot.

Speaking after the match, Meulensteen said that the performance wasn't good enough, but added that he did not see it coming.

"I'm shocked. I don't know if there was something in the tea. I did not see that coming and the players did not see that coming, he told BBC Sport.

"Today was just not good enough. We didn't play particularly well in the first half but were still in the game. The spell from 60 minutes onwards they score three quick goals and it was game over. We couldn't come back from it."

Fulham are currently 18th in the table, with a goal difference of -22.
