Kit Symons admits he wants Fulham job permanently

Kit Symons admits that he wants to take charge of Fulham on a full-time basis after being appointed caretaker boss following Felix Magath's dismissal.

Fulham caretaker manager Kit Symons believes that he is the right man to take charge of the Cottagers on a full-time basis.

The former Wales international was appointed on a temporary agreement yesterday after the club sacked Felix Magath following a winless start to the season.

Symons, who has been coaching Fulham's Under-21 side for some time, will try to revive the Cottagers' season after the team picked up just one point in seven Championship games.

"I want to convince the owner to give me the job full-time," Symons said in today's press conference. "I've done the caretaker thing a few times and I'm ready to do it full-time now.

"I've got my own big ideas about what I want to do. I've got full confidence in the way I train, coach and manage and these players are going to love it.

"The club needs stability now and I am here to give that. No one understands the fabric of the football club better than me. I understand what the fans want, what the people working here want and what the players want now."

Fulham will take on Blackburn Rovers at Craven Cottage tomorrow.
