William Kvist: 'Win has lifted Fulham'

Fulham's William Kvist is confident that survival is still in the club's own hands following the Newcastle United win.

Fulham's on-loan midfielder William Kvist has admitted that there is much more positivity among the club's players following their 1-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend.

Kvist, who is with the Whites until the end of the season from Stuttgart, said that despite the club currently sitting bottom of the Premier League table, survival is still in their hands.

"It was really important for us, no doubt about that," Kvist told the club's official website. "At home we'd struggled a bit to get the points this season so it was important for us, with the fans, to celebrate a victory.

"A victory just changes everything; the mood, and in training, it lifts you a notch higher so it was really important for us. I get this feeling that it's still in our hands - we have a lot of games left and we need to play really well, that's the way I see it.

"Since I came here the progress has been really good. I think the German mentality has improved us and we play good football. We played well against Manchester United and Liverpool and then the new manager came here and we've just kept on building on that. Now we've got the points, which was important, so I think we're getting there."

Fulham travel to the Etihad to take on Manchester City on Saturday.
