Fulham inflict a 2-0 defeat on Bolton Wanderers to leave Owen Coyle's side at the bottom of the Premier League table.

The pressure has continued to mount on Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle following his side's 2-0 defeat at Fulham this afternoon.

After a slow start to the match, the home side broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute through Clint Dempsey, who headed in a cross from Bryan Ruiz.

The pair then switched roles moments later for Ruiz to shoot past Jussi Jaaskelainen from close range.

Visiting Wanderers posed more of an attacking threat after the break, but it was Fulham who went closest to scoring the game's third goal.

Danny Murphy released Andy Johnson, who in turn crossed for Dempsey, but the American international volleyed over from eight yards out.

Bolton remain bottom of the Premier League table following the defeat, having collected nine points from 16 matches.
