Fulham boss Martin Jol believes that Danny Murphy will sign a new deal with the club.

Veteran midfielder Danny Murphy could play on at Fulham for another year, according to manager Martin Jol.

The 35-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season following five years at Craven Cottage.

Despite uncertainty over his future, Jol believes that Murphy will accept the club's offer of a new deal.

"He is part of our playing culture," said the Dutchman.

"He is our link-up player and if he is not there you get a different style. He is very important to our playing culture.

"But of course, Danny is not 22 or 18 like [Kerim] Frei so sometimes you have to create your own options. [I can see him staying for at least another year] if we can agree on the terms as we have offered him a new deal."

The Cottagers travel to Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
