Alex McLeish: 'I've got my mojo back'

Alex McLeish says that his time in charge of Belgian side Genk has revitalised his managerial ambitions.

Former Aston Villa and Rangers manager Alex McLeish has claimed that his managerial ambitions have been revived by his spell at Genk.

The 56-year-old announced this week that he will leave the Belgian club in the summer when his one-year deal expires.

McLeish, who has led Genk to the Europa League playoffs for next season, says that he is keeping his options open.

"Football can drain you at times but I have been regalvanised by this challenge in Belgium. I have definitely got my mojo back," he told The Mirror.

"We were a team that weren't given a prayer at the beginning of the season to nearly getting right up there into the top six.

"Genk are a club who have been quite near the top over the last four or five years but they hadn't won in their first four games. We came in and really made a big charge to get up the table."

McLeish has been linked with a return to Rangers should Stuart McCall not be offered a new deal at Ibrox.
