Kwesi Appiah will not consider Kevin-Prince Boateng recall

Ghana manager Kwesi Appiah indicates that he will not be recalling Kevin-Prince Boateng to his squad after the Schalke 04 midfielder was sent home from the World Cup.

Ghana manager Kwesi Appiah has indicated that there is little chance of an international reprieve for Kevin-Prince Boateng following his World Cup expulsion.

The Schalke 04 midfielder, along with Sulley Muntari, was sent home from Brazil after a training-ground confrontation with Appiah before their final group game.

Appiah is being maintained as Ghana boss despite their failure to qualify for the knockout stages, and therefore there appears to be no way back for Boateng, who has accused the 54-year-old of "insulting" him.

Appiah says that he will now only select players who are "disciplined, committed and ready to die for the country".

Boateng has only made 15 appearances for Ghana after switching allegiances from Germany, for whom he played all of his youth football, due to disciplinary problems and a period in international retirement.
