Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon says that his team got what they deserved, losing their Scottish Premier League opener 3-0 to Dundee United.

Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon has admitted that his side deserved to lose their Scottish Premier League opener against Dundee United.

Goals from Johnny Russell, Jon Daly and Michael Gardyne ensured Hibs went down to a heavy defeat in their first game of the season at Tannadice.

Fenlon said: "We got what we deserved to be honest. We didn't get anything out of the game and that is what we got, it was a poor performance.

"Dundee United played well today and I don't want to take too much away from them. They were excellent and we were poor."

Hibs play their first home game of the season next weekend in the Edinburgh derby against city rivals Hearts.
