Huddersfield Town and Hull City play out a goalless opening 45 minutes in their Championship encounter this evening.

Neither Huddersfield Town nor Hull City could break the deadlock in a tight first-half at the John Smith's Stadium this evening.

Huddersfield made a bright start to the match, coming close in the first minute when Adam Clayton's shot flew over the top.

Hull were the first to work the opposition keeper, however, when Jay Simpson got onto the end of a volleyed cross, only to send his first-time effort straight at Alex Smithies.

Ahmed El Mohamady came close to breaking the deadlock shortly afterwards when the ball fell to him in fortuitous circumstances, but the Hull man fired just wide.

James Vaughan was the first to test Stockdale in the Hull goal, doing so with a curling effort from 25 yards that the Hull goalkeeper did well to hold.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between for both sides, however, and they went into the break all square.
