Huddersfield Town have made their fifth signing of the summer with the addition of Martin Cranie on a one-year contract.
The defender, 28, was a free agent after being released by League One side Barnsley last season.
"He has fitted into the group very well in terms of his personality and ability and came into pre-season in fantastic shape; he's a good professional and very motivated," Terriers boss Chris Powell told the club website.
"I think he fits the bill for us, as he has great know-how of the division and can play all across the back four."
Dean Whitehead, Jason Davidson, Kyle Dempsey and Jordy Hiwula are Huddersfield's four other signings this summer.
