Jamie McCombe has left Huddersfield Town by mutual consent.
The defender has rarely featured for the club since manager Simon Grayson joined Huddersfield, and Grayson has admitted that he was happy to allow the player to leave the club.
Grayson told the club's official website: "Jamie is a senior player and needs first-team football at his age.
"It is only fair to allow players to go in search of first-team football when you can't offer it to them and his departure also helps our wage bill."
The 29-year-old's last appearance for Huddersfield came on March 10.
