Steve Bruce thrilled with another "deserved" away point against top-four side

Steve Bruce was thrilled to see Hull City take away points off one of the Premier League's top four for the second successive game after holding Liverpool at Anfield.

Steve Bruce was left delighted with his Hull City side after they took away points off one of the Premier League's elite for the second time in as many games.

The Tigers held Liverpool to a goalless stalemate at Anfield on Saturday afternoon to follow up their 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Bruce was particularly pleased with their "terrific performance" on Merseyside considering that he was forced into several changes, with Nikica Jelavic, Michael Dawson and Steve Harper all injured, and feels that the draw was "deserved".

"We have been away at the Emirates and come here and put on another terrific show," Bruce told reporters.

"In the first half we had probably the best opportunity when Hatem Ben Arfa played the ball into Jake Livermore, Liverpool got frustrated in the second half and we came away with a thoroughly deserved point.

"We had four or five players missing today from the team that played Arsenal and everyone that came in put in a terrific performance."

The result extended Hull's unbeaten run to three games and lifted them to ninth in the table.
