Dame N'Doye scored an 89th-minute winner as Hull City grabbed a dramatic 2-1 victory over 10-man Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Nikica Jelavic opened the scoring on the quarter-hour mark, before the visitors shot themselves in the foot midway through the first half when Joey Barton was sent off for a punch on Tom Huddlestone.

Charlie Austin equalised in the 39th minute, but his side could not hold on to a point as the Senegalese striker celebrated his 30th birthday with a late strike.

Goal

Allan McGregor: Denied Furlong a debut goal with a great save from under his bar to palm the ball away. Not at fault for Austin's goal, and did not have much else to deal with aside from that. (7/10)

Defence

Paul McShane: Struggled to deal with Austin at times, but largely remained solid at the back, even though his tackling was wayward. (6/10)

Alex Bruce: Kept tight alongside his teammates at the back and collectively dealt well with the striking threat of QPR. (7/10)

Michael Dawson: Headed plenty of crosses out of the penalty area and fared well up against Zamora. Also dangerous in the opposition's box and almost scored with a glancing header. (8/10)

David Meyler: Always willing to get in behind his strikers into the box, but his decision making in the final third was not the best at times. (6/10)

Midfield

Jake Livermore: Could have scored in the first half, but lacked the composure to hit the target from the edge of the area. Profited from the void in the middle after Barton was sent off. (7/10)

Tom Huddlestone: Nearly scored a 25-yard screamer in the first period and was able to masterfully pull the strings in midfield when QPR went down to 10 men. (8/10)

Ahmed El Mohamady: Provided plenty of width down the right-hand side and was a constant menace with his crosses. (7/10)

Robbie Brady: Set up the winning goal in the last couple of minutes with a smart cross into the area. Displayed the kind of fruitful endeavour that teammates in the front line adore. (8/10)

Attack

Dame N'Doye: Netted the winner with a cool header from inside the six-yard box, which capped off a skilful performance. (7/10)

Goal

Robert Green: Unlucky to concede from N'Doye's late strike after thwarting the same man just moments earlier with a great save. Was shaky at times, fumbling a couple of crosses. (6/10)

Defence

Suk-Young Yoon: Allowed Elmohamady too much space down the right wing as the Egyptian had freedom to continually cross into the box, although he did make some decent forays forward. (6/10)

Rio Ferdinand: Used his experience well to keep his side focused after Barton was dismissed, but his positioning was haphazard at times. Slacked off to allow N'Doye to drift in unopposed and score Hull's winner. (6/10)

Steven Caulker: His tame clearance went straight to the feet Jelavic, allowing him to score. Was pulled out of position far too often by the Hull strikers. (5/10)

Darnell Furlong: Was very brave and clinical despite his age and inexperience. Sent some good passes toward his strikers, but gave Brady too much space for the winning goal. (7/10)

Midfield

Karl Henry: Decent passing, but allowed Livermore and Huddlestone too much room on the edge of the box at times. (6/10)

Nico Kranjcar: Was able to pull the strings in midfield for his side early on, but fell out of the game as it went on and became largely anonymous. (6/10)

Joey Barton: Failed to establish any kind of authority in midfield and arguably cost his side when he snapped and punched Huddlestone to get sent off. (3/10)

Matt Phillips: One of QPR's brighter players, with his pace proving to be an asset down the right wing. Played some good balls into the box and provided Austin's header. (7/10)

Attack

Bobby Zamora: Was penalised for fouls quite often as the referee did not truly allow him to use his strength in the final third. (6/10)

Charlie Austin: Clawed QPR back into the match in the first half with a brilliant header into the bottom corner, but service to him was lacking for most of the game. (8/10)

Armand Traore: Failed to make much of an impact. (6/10)
