Alex Bruce has signed for Hull City on a free transfer from Leeds United, joining his father Steve at the KC Stadium.
Bruce has previously played under his father at Birmingham City, and Bruce senior believes that his son will prove an excellent addition to his new club.
Manager Bruce told the club's official website: "When you look at what is going on in the Bosman market, he makes for a very good free transfer.
"He's 27 and he will handle the division. He's at the peak of his career and he looks in good shape."
The former Republic of Ireland international has spent the majority of his career at Championship level playing for Ipswich Town.
