Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town in control against Rotherham United

Ipswich Town head into half time with a two-goal lead over Rotherham United.

Goals from Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick have given Ipswich Town a 2-0 lead over Rotherham United in this afternoon's Championship clash at Portman Road.

The Tractor Boys got off to a flyer as Murphy was on hand to nod the ball over the line in the third minute, after Luke Chambers's initial header was parried by Millers goalkeeper Scott Loach.

It was 2-0 just three minutes later as McGoldrick doubled his side's lead with an absolute screamer, bending the ball into the top corner with his left foot.

Rotherham's best chance to pull a goal back before the break fell to Alex Revell in the 19th minute when he collected the ball in the box unmarked, only to slice his shot and allow Chambers an easy block.

Ipswich kept up the pressure as the first half drew to a close, but were unable to extend their lead further before the interval.
