Martyn Waghorn: 'Ipswich Town want similar performances'

Waghorn delighted with Ipswich performance
Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn says that he was delighted with his side's performance in their 2-2 draw with Millwall on Monday evening.

Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn has said that he was delighted with his side's performance in their 2-2 draw with Millwall on Monday evening.

The forward netted twice as the club took a point off one of the Championship's in-form teams - their first in four games.

Waghorn praised his side's "entertaining" style of play earlier in the week, adding that his teammates want to continue in the same way going forward.

"It was really entertaining and both sets of fans were really good while the players left it all out on the pitch," the 28-year-old told the Ipswich Star. "That's what the fans need, a bit of attacking football, a bit of optimism and that was something we were able to give them.

"I don't think it's the manager but it's just us playing on the front foot and the fans getting behind us. There have been times before we've done well and not got the goal we wanted or decisions haven't gone our way, but today we set the tone early doors.

"I think that's the message going forward, a bit more style. We enjoyed the battle, the scrap and the end to end game and we just let ourselves go and enjoyed it under difficult circumstances. We got the ball down and got players in good positions."

Ipswich face Brentford on Saturday looking for their first win since the start of March.
