Leicester City win from behind at Ipswich Town

Leicester City move level on points with Championship leaders Burnley by coming from behind to win 2-1 at Ipswich Town.

Leicester City have moved level on points with Championship leaders Burnley by coming from behind to win at Ipswich Town.

David Nugent netted a second-half brace to give the Foxes their fifth away win of the season, after the Tractor Boys had opened the scoring through David McGoldrick.

The former Nottingham Forest striker broke the deadlock on two minutes with a dipping strike from 25 yards.

Nugent almost netted an instant reply, but the one-time England international fired wide from close range.

A poor back-pass from Paul Konchesky then gave McGoldrick an opportunity to double his tally, but the former Nottingham Forest striker was denied by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The Danish keeper was called upon again moments later to keep out Paul Anderson's stretching effort.

Leicester raced out of the blocks in the second half and they deservedly pulled level on 51 minutes when Nugent powered home from the edge of the penalty area.

Nugent struck again seven minutes later, notching up his 10th goal of the season by finishing clinically from close range following a pacy run by Lloyd Dyer.

McGoldrick came close to equalising in the final minute of normal time when he flashed a curling effort just wide from 20 yards.

Leicester broke immediately and Nugent almost completed his hat-trick, but he placed a low shot narrowly past the post.
