Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri eyes 'ideal clean sheet'

Massimiliano Allegri admits that his Juventus side need to keep a clean sheet to give themselves the best chance of overcoming Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri has urged his players to do all that they can to keep a clean sheet in the opening leg of their Champions League tie against Bayern Munich tomorrow night.

Bayern are the favourites with the bookmakers to progress to the quarter-finals given that they have the advantage of playing the second leg at home.

However, Allegri has suggested that the balance of power may swing his team's way if they can keep the Bavarians at bay in Turin.

"We need to rid them of possession and keep the ball as much as we possibly can," he told reporters.

"Keeping a clean sheet would be ideal, as it would allow us to go to Munich and play for qualification with two decent results at our disposal."

Bayern ran out 4-1 winners when the sides last met in December 2009.
