Juventus 2-0 Inter Milan

Juventus move to within four points of Serie A leaders AC Milan with a 2-0 win at home to Inter in the Derby d'Italia.

Juventus have reduced AC Milan's lead at the top of Serie A back to four points with a 2-0 win at home to Inter Milan in the Derby d'Italia.

After a tight opening, Inter had the first chance on goal when Diego Milito's low effort was pushed away by Gianluigi Buffon.

Alessandro Matri nearly gave Juve the lead minutes later, but he could only direct his header at Julio Cesar from Martin Caceres's cross.

The Nerazzuri ended the half the stronger as Joel Obi and Dejan Stankovic both had powerful drives punched away by Buffon.

Inter continued to control the game after the break, but they found themselves behind on the hour when Caceres planted a free header past Cesar from Andrea Pirlo's corner.

The hosts doubled their lead with 20 minutes to play thanks to substitute Alessandro Del Piero's cool finish.

It could have been 3-0 soon after, but Fabio Quagliarella's shot was cleared off the line by Maicon.
