Las Palmas sign Jonathan Viera

Former Valencia attacker Jonathan Viera re-joins Las Palmas on a three-year deal from Standard Liege.

La Liga new boys Las Palmas have acquired Jonathan Viera on a permanent deal from Standard Liege.

The 25-year-old, who has signed a three-year contract with the Spanish club, spent the second half of last season on loan at his former club as they secured promotion from the Segunda Division.

It had been claimed that Standard Liege wanted Viera to return for the new campaign, but a deal in the region of £600,000 has been agreed between the two teams.

Viera, who scored seven times for Las Palmas in the second half of last season, has experience of Spain's top flight having represented Valencia between 2012 and 2014.

Las Palmas will kick off their La Liga campaign away to Atletico Madrid next month.
