Steve Evans: 'Neil Redfearn could be one game from sack'

Leeds United manager Steve Evans suggests that Rotherham boss Neil Redfearn could be one game away from the sack after complaining that his side are not good enough.

Leeds United manager Steve Evans has hit back at Rotherham United boss Neil Redfearn, hinting that he could be one game away from losing his job at the club.

Redfearn recently aimed a thinly-veiled dig at his predecessor at the New York Stadium, suggesting that the team he inherited from Evans was not good enough to remain in the Championship.

However, Evans believes that the comments betray the pressure that Redfearn finds himself under, accusing the former Leeds boss of being unprofessional with his remarks.

"I could have said that here couldn't I but I have got too much professionalism about myself," Evans is quoted as saying by PA.

"I have read those comments and it just sounds like a man as if he is under extreme pressure and wonders what happens if he loses the next one."

Rotherham's next match comes against high-flying Hull City, while Leeds take on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday.
