Report: Middlesbrough, Sunderland eager to sign Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green

Middlesbrough and Sunderland are reportedly monitoring Leeds United goalkeeper Rob Green after the arrival of Felix Wiedwald at Elland Road last week.

Middlesbrough and Sunderland have expressed an interest in Leeds United goalkeeper Robert Green, according to reports.

The former England custodian's first-team place at Elland Road could be under threat after the Championship club signed Werder Bremen stopper Felix Wiedwald at the end of June.

Green, who joined Leeds on a free transfer from Queens Park Rangers last summer, was a regular in his first campaign at the club, starting all 46 of their league matches.

However, the Yorkshire Evening Post claims that Green is unhappy with Leeds now having four senior goalkeepers on their books, and may be considering his future.

As a result, it has been reported that the two North-East outfits, both of whom were relegated from the Premier League in 2016-17, are keeping tabs on the 37-year-old.

Garry Monk, the manager who brought Green to Leeds, quit his post shortly after the end of last season, with Thomas Christiansen taking the first-team reins.
