Report: Claudio Ranieri signs new long-term contract with Leicester City

Claudio Ranieri is rewarded for leading Leicester City to the Premier League title with a new long-term contract at the King Power, according to reports.

Claudio Ranieri has agreed a new long-term contract with Leicester City, according to reports.

The Italian signed a three-year deal with the Foxes when he was appointed last summer as Nigel Pearson's successor.

Despite criticism of his appointment by some fans and pundits, Ranieri exceeded expectations by leading Leicester to the Premier League title.

According to Sky Sports News, legal formalities are expected to be completed before the East Midlands club begin the season away at Hull City on Saturday.

It is understood that Ranieri's new deal will not include a compensation clause should other clubs come calling.
