Claudio Ranieri: 'Jamie Vardy is good, but he is no Neymar'

Claudio Ranieri dismisses the notion that Leicester City's red-hot striker Jamie Vardy in on a par with Barcelona's Neymar.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has claimed that in-form striker Jamie Vardy has a way to go before he can justify comparisons with Barcelona ace Neymar.

Vardy has netted nine times in as many Premier League outings this season to lead the way for the golden boot, with the 28-year-old three ahead of Manchester City hitman Sergio Aguero.

In Spain, the Brazilian marksman has eight in seven Primera Division matches so far, but the Italian coach is not entertaining the idea that his man is on Neymar's level just yet.

"It is too early to talk about Vardy along with Neymar," he told a press conference. "I hope he can improve, if he can continue it will be fantastic."

The Foxes, who sit fifth in the table, host Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
