Leicester City sack trio after Thailand orgy

Leicester City trio Tom Hopper, Adam Smith and James Pearson are released by the club following their end-of-season behaviour in Thailand, the club confirms.

Leicester City have announced that Tom Hopper, Adam Smith and James Pearson have had their contracts terminated following an incident on an end-of-season tour in Thailand.

Footage of the trio engaging in sexual activity with a group of Thai women emerged via The Mirror last month in a video that is considered to have racial undertones.

One of the men is thought to have referred to one of the women as a "slit eye", which has seen them condemned for their behaviour.

Hopper, Smith and Pearson - son of first-team manager Nigel Pearson - have since reportedly been the subject of death threats online and all three have now been released by the Foxes.

The club released a statement reading: "The decision follows the conclusion of an internal investigation and disciplinary proceedings, as a consequence of events that took place during the club's end-of-season goodwill tour of Thailand.

"Leicester City Football Club is acutely aware of its position, and that of its players, as a representative of the city of Leicester, the Premier League, the Football Association and the club's supporters.

"It is committed to promoting a positive message of community and family values and equality, and to upholding the standards expected of a club with its history, tradition and aspirations. The club will make no further comment on the investigation, its finding or outcomes."

The video was initially leaked when a friend of one of the men passed it on.
