Nigel Pearson calls on his Leicester City players to be "workmanlike" as they look to return to winning ways in tonight's Championship fixture against Reading.

Nigel Pearson has called on his Leicester City players to be "workmanlike" in tonight's Championship fixture against Reading.

Last weekend Leicester's promotion to the Premier League was confirmed, but the Foxes then lost their first league game in four months when Brighton & Hove Albion downed them 4-1 on Tuesday night.

Although their return to the top flight after a 10-year absence is assured, Pearson still wants to finish the season strongly to ensure that they claim the league title.

Victory tonight would see the Foxes move nine points clear of second-placed Burnley with four games to go.

"We have five games left and there's a still lot to play for," Pearson told the Foxes' website.

"There's no doubting we have quality in our squad and talented players, but what you cannot do is lack the foundations that we have prided ourselves on.

"We have to be workmanlike as well and that all our qualities are on show, not just our ability to play. We have to work hard too."

Reading have plenty to play for as well after they were edged down to eighth because of wins for Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town on Saturday.

If the Royals avoid defeat at the King Power Stadium tonight they will climb back into the top six.
