Leicester City have reportedly moved ahead of AC Milan and Juventus in the race for Wolfsburg attacker Patrick Wimmer.
The Foxes are planning for a future in the Premier League past this campaign despite another sobering match at the King Power Stadium on Friday night versus Brentford.
Ruud van Nistelrooy's troops lost 4-0 to the Bees, meaning that Leicester have now been defeated in each of their last six top-flight matches in the East Midlands without scoring.
After picking up that unwanted record last time out, the Foxes are languishing down in 19th position in the Premier League table, two points away from safety.
Losing 11 of their last 13 matches across all competitions, Leicester are in a real rut at the moment, with pressure understandably mounting on head coach Van Nistelrooy.

AC Milan, Juventus battling Leicester for Wimmer?
According to German outlet Bild, Leicester are a major player in the race for the services of Wolfsburg man Wimmer this summer despite struggling in the Premier League.
The report claims that the Foxes attempted to hash out a deal for the 23-year-old over the winter window, although the winger ultimately stayed put in Germany.
As well as Leicester, it is understood that Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus are keen on signing Wimmer ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
There is a general consensus that the East Midlands club need to remain in the Premier League next term in order to seriously compete for the player's signature.
Wolfsburg head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl is a massive admirer of the Wimmer, who is supposedly valued at €20m (£16.5m) by the Bundesliga side.

Who is Patrick Wimmer?
Starting 13 of Wolfsburg's 23 Bundesliga matches this term, Leicester target Wimmer is not a nailed-on starter for a side battling in the middle section of the German top flight.
However, the 23-year-old has made a positive impact when finding his way onto the pitch, scoring once and providing four assists in the league.
Wimmer has also been the recipient of international recognition in recent times, earning 21 caps for Austria's senior outfit since his debut in 2022.
