Leicester City eye Axel Witsel as N'Golo Kante replacement?

Leicester City reportedly earmark Zenit St Petersburg midfielder and Everton target Axel Witsel as a potential replacement for N'Golo Kante.

Leicester City have reportedly entered the race to sign Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Everton this summer, with Toffees manager Ronald Koeman seemingly confirming his interest in the Belgium international last week.

Napoli have also been credited with an interest, and France Football claims that Leicester are now considering a bid for the midfielder too.

The Premier League champions are thought to be looking for a replacement for N'Golo Kante, who is reportedly on the verge of joining Chelsea in a £29m deal.

The Foxes have offered Kante a new deal to stay at the King Power Stadium, but should he depart as expected then Claudio Ranieri could turn his attentions to the £28.5m-rated Witsel.
