Levante out of La Liga relegation zone with victory over Eibar

Levante are out of the La Liga relegation zone after coming from behind to beat Eibar.

Levante came from behind to move out of the La Liga relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Eibar this evening.

Saul Berjon gave Eibar the lead, but David Barral and Ikechukwu Uche replied to give Levante the three points.

Jose Luis Morales's long-range shot was saved comfortably by Eibar goalkeeper Jaime in the 12th minute.

Levante had a penalty appeal turned down eight minutes later, after Uche thought that he was fouled by Raul Navas.

Manu del Moral came close to giving Eibar the lead just before half time, but his powerful shot was deflected round the post by David Navarro.

Saul Berjon gave Eibar the lead in the 55th minute, volleying the ball past Diego Marino and into the net.

Levante turned the scoreline round with two goals in four minutes. First, David Barral directed the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Then, Uche put Levante ahead after both Boveda and Ekiza failed to clear the ball.

Dani Garcia was sent off after his second yellow card, and Levante took the victory.

The result sees Levante rise to 16th in La Liga while Eibar remain in 13th.
