Russell Slade: 'Leyton Orient can't win them all'

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade says that his team "can't win them all" after Walsall ending the O's eight-game winning streak in League One this afternoon.

Russell Slade has said that Leyton Orient "can't win them all" after watching his team lose their 100% record in League One after the 1-1 draw with Walsall.

The high-flying Londoners, who were aiming for a ninth-straight win, surrendered their perfect start to the campaign after Craig Westcarr cancelled out David Mooney's first-half strike.

Slade's charges faced 10 men for much of the game following Andy Butler's 18th-minute red card but, despite failing to capitalise on their numerical advantage and dropping points for the first time this season, the 52-year-old coach has adopted a philosophical outlook on the result.

"We're disappointed but whatever the outcome I know this – we're three points at the top of the table so we have to take that," Slade told reporters.

"I think we'll get over that one, we can't win them all but we came mighty close to making it nine.

"That's football, sometimes you just have to take it on the chin."

Orient remain at the summit of England's third tier despite the dropped points, but Peterborough United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have reduced the deficit to three points, after both collected victories this afternoon.
