Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool will aim to make it back-to-back wins over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League during Wednesday's battle in Group B.

The Reds boast a perfect tally of nine points from three games with Atletico, AC Milan and Porto to sit pretty at the top of the rankings in Europe.

However, Jurgen Klopp's men dropped two points in the Premier League at the weekend, with a dogged Brighton & Hove Albion side claiming a 2-2 draw at Anfield.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

James Milner

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 20 (vs. Arsenal)

James Milner had to come off in the first half against Manchester United earlier this month after sustaining a hamstring injury, and Klopp expects to make do without the veteran until after the next international break.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Naby Keita recovered from bruising in time to face Brighton, but the luckless midfielder went off after 20 minutes with a hamstring issue and is now facing a "while" on the sidelines.

Fabinho

Possible return date: November 3 (vs. Atletico Madrid)

Thiago Alcantara is being put through his paces on the training pitches as he battles his way back from a calf problem, but Klopp has affirmed that he is "much closer" to getting back now, so a comeback on Wednesday is not beyond the realm of possibility.

Harvey Elliott
