Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hints Daniel Sturridge could play against Bordeaux

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hints that Daniel Sturridge could play a part in Thursday's Europa League match against Bordeaux.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Daniel Sturridge will play a part in Thursday's Europa League game against Bordeaux.

The England international has not played at all since Klopp took over from Brendan Rodgers last month due to injury troubles.

The 26-year-old was on the bench for last weekend's 4-1 victory over Manchester City, but did not feature at the Etihad Stadium.

After doing a full week's training, it appears that Sturridge could get his chance at Anfield on Thursday.

"The best thing is Daniel is coming closer and closer and closer," Klopp told reporters. "He can train, and it is seven, eight times in a row which is the longest since I've been here, and that will help us.

"Christian Benteke is in great shape too, he's had all the session and with Belgium team too so that is important, but Daniel is closer. Now it's another three to four sessions since last Saturday, and that is of course important, but my decision you will see tomorrow, but yeah it's closer."

Liverpool can book their place in the last 32 of the competition with a win against Bordeaux.
