Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard expects a tough FA Cup quarter-final against Stoke after his side's 6-1 victory over Brighton.

Liverpool captain Steve Gerrard has said that he expects a tough FA Cup quarter-final against Stoke City after his side's 6-1 win over Brighton in the fifth round.

The visitors scored three own goals at Anfield to help the Reds progress to the last-eight.

"We're pleased to get a home draw, but its not going to be an easy game," Gerrard told ESPN. "They came here in the league and were very resilient and defended well.

"It was very tough for us and we drew the game, so we're expecting a similar game to the league game but hopefully we can convert our chances this time and get to Wembley again.

"It'll be fantastic for the supporters if we can take them to Wembley for the second time."

Liverpool face Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final next Sunday.
