Liverpool are unsure as to when Mohamed Salah will return from the ankle problem he picked up in their game with Manchester City, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly not yet clear on when Mohamed Salah will return from his current ankle problem.

The 27-year-old went off in the second half of the Reds' clash with Manchester City last weekend and he subsequently withdrew from the Egypt squad for their games during this international break.

Salah, who had another injury issue last month, was spotted wearing a protective boot and it is believed that he has now returned to Liverpool for treatment.

Sky Sports News reports that the former Chelsea winger is currently recovering offsite and that while he is set to be given time off in the next week, he is still a major doubt for their game next Saturday with Crystal Palace.

The Egyptian has scored nine goals in 17 games for Jurgen Klopp's side so far this season.
