Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has tipped Andre Wisdom and Martin Kelly to have a bright future at the club.
Wisdom and Kelly, who are 19 and 22 respectively, have enjoyed a taste of first-team action under manager Brendan Rodgers this season, drawing plaudits for the way that they coped with Premier League football at such a young age.
The duo have mainly played at full-back, but Carragher believes that their future will be in the heart of the defence, where he hopes that they can go on to emulate his illustrious career at the club.
"You look at Andre Wisdom and Martin Kelly particularly. It's mainly because they are young centre-backs who have gone into the team playing full-back to gain experience," said Carragher.
"It's very hard to go straight into any Premier League team and play in the middle immediately. But they've done very well over the last 12 to 18 months. I'm very confident that they could play centre-back for Liverpool once they have the experience.
"Being physically stronger and quicker, if they can learn the game they can maybe have a bigger impact at the club than myself."
Carragher, 35, has already announced his intention to retire at the end of the current season.
