Jamie Carragher can't accept Alex Ferguson's "outrageous" Liverpool views

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says that he cannot accept Sir Alex Ferguson's "outrageous" views on Liverpool in his autobiography.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has slammed Sir Alex Ferguson's observations on the club in his recently released autobiography.

While discussing the Reds in the book, Ferguson claimed that Steven Gerrard was not a "top top player", and also claimed that the club mismanaged Michael Owen as a youngster.

However, writing in his Daily Mail column, Carragher said that he staunchly disagrees with some of Ferguson's views.

"Take the reference to Steven Gerrard not being 'a top, top player'. I found that outrageous," wrote Carragher.

"Michael [Owen] became European Footballer of the Year in 2001; had he been at United, Ferguson would have almost certainly let him loose. He had done that, don't forget, with Ryan Giggs, giving him his debut as a 17-year-old.

"My respect for Ferguson is total. But there are some of Ferguson's opinions about Liverpool — my Liverpool — that I simply cannot accept."

Carragher retired from football in May after playing 737 games for the Reds.
