Kenny Dalglish defends Pepe Reina after the Spanish keeper's blunder set up Manchester City's 3-0 win last night.

Kenny Dalglish has come out in support of Pepe Reina, after the Spanish keeper blundered to let in Manchester City's first goal in their eventual 3-0 win over Liverpool last night.

Reina let a weak shot from Sergio Aguero go under his body in the tenth minute to allow City their opening goal, which was followed by a strike from Yaya Toure and a penalty from James Milner.

"The ball took a hell of a dip and I notice they changed the ball afterwards which for us sums up what the night is about," Dalglish said.

"There were a lot of mistakes made by a lot of our players. Unfortunately, when a keeper makes one, there isn't much comeback.

"But we're going to move ahead as a squad, not as individuals."

Liverpool are sixth in the Premier League, 14 points off leaders City.
