Dalglish not charged over P-word

The FA confirms that Kenny Dalglish will not be charged over a swearing incident at the weekend.

The Football Association has confirmed that Kenny Dalglish will not face punishment over a swearing incident at Liverpool's tense game with Arsenal on Sunday.

The manager was seen on camera telling his counterpart Arsene Wenger to "piss off" when the Arsenal boss questioned a penalty awarded in the 11th minute of injury time.

Manchester United fans reportedly bombarded the FA with complaints over Dalglish's comment, calling for action following Wayne Rooney's two-game suspension earlier in the month.

An FA spokesman said: "We are quite clear that the context of the Rooney incident was wholly different to the other recent incidents cited."

Sir Trevor Brooking, the organisation's director of football development, explained that Dalglish's remark was different because Rooney "[reacted] straight into the camera".
