Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed his disappointment at his side's inability to take all three points against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw against the Magpies, despite Alan Pardew's side playing over half the game with a man fewer following Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa's sending-off.
"It would have been nice to [score] in general play and I feel disappointed we've not got the three points," Gerrard told BT Sport.
"It's a chance missed for us today. I thought we did enough to win it but credit to Newcastle for hanging in there.
"I thought our all-round game was very good. Often you come back after international duty lacking a bit of energy."
The Reds are currently third in the Premier League.
