Jordan Henderson: 'Liverpool can finish above Manchester City'

Jordan Henderson says that Liverpool can finish above Manchester City in the Premier League, following victory over the reigning champions on Sunday.

Jordan Henderson has said that Liverpool can finish above Manchester City, following their 2-1 victory over the reigning champions on Sunday.

Liverpool are currently seven points behind City with 11 games remaining, but Henderson has targeted a win in every game to propel them into a Champions League place.

"[Finishing above Manchester City is] always possible. The main thing to do would be to concentrate on ourselves as much as we can, keep the momentum going and see where it takes us really," Henderson told the Daily Mail.

"We have just got to aim to win every game. I think we have got the ability to do that. We have got a good enough squad but we just have to make sure that we don't get too carried away with the result. But it is a big result and it gives us a lot of confidence. We are going to give it a real go."

Liverpool welcome Burnley to Anfield on Tuesday evening.
